Hi,

I’ve started the preskate list which can be found here. Rules and game format can be found below. Attendance is not mandatory.

I have filled players in the first two skates with the remainder to be filled by next Friday as SPKAC release players. If your player is not yet on this list (this applies to approximately 60 registered players) – they will skate on Sept 8. Check back on the 6th for their time.

IMPORTANT: Often when checking the website, changes do not show up if you are using the same device repeatedly, so I encourage you to manually refresh the page each time you visit. For those that need assistance with this, please read this article for the reason and how to refresh your browser on various platforms to make sure you are always receiving the latest and greatest information.

If there is a star by your players name – I’m hoping you can bring your skates and help control the game from the ice.

Players will have one preskate before evaluations start.

A few notes about the U15 Preskates:

  • These lists are a simple mix of players of all backgrounds and skill levels and DO NOT constitute initial evaluation groups
  • No evaluations will take place at warm up games – these games are simply for the players who have not yet had a chance to get on the ice to get their skating legs underneath them and get prepped for evaluations the following week
  • Players will be assigned to teams at check in at each game
  • Please bring a dark and light practice jersey – there will not be jerseys or pinnies at these ice times.
  • Some preskate games may have more than two goaltenders, they will rotate as required (three – each play a period in both nets, four – each play half the game in the same net).
  • Full equipment, including neck guards, are required. No neck guard, no ice time.
    • Ensure helmets and cages are appropriately tight.
  • To accommodate all skill levels, all warm up games will consist of NON-Checking games. There are no referees at these games.
  • Game format:
    • Free-flow 5 on 5 – minimal whistles and face-offs.
    • Three run-time periods of 18 minutes will be played.
    • Goalie freezes the puck – whistle blown, attacking team must retreat to beyond the attacking blue line while defending team picks up puck
    • Offsides – whistle blown, attacking team must retreat behind the center red line while defending team picks up puck
    • Goals – whistle blown, attacking team must retreat behind the center red line
    • No body checking permitted
    • Penalties – whistle blown, penalty shot taken by the fouled player
    • Egregious/major/repeated infractions will result in the referee removing the offending player from the ice

Thanks,

Trish
