The Recreational Stream involves the formation of non-tiered teams that play through the Edmonton Federation Hockey League (EFHL) Recreation Division. The players will vary from beginners that are learning basic hockey skills to those that have more experience. This is a lower cost, lower commitment option for those players who are interested in a more casual approach to hockey, and thus does not feature a heavy focus on player development. Recreation teams play games only, and do not hold practices.

- A child can register in U11 Recreation even if they have not participated in younger divisions
- For the 2024-25 season those born in 2014 and 2015 may register for the U11 Recreation program.
- Balanced non-tiered teams of 17 to 20 players are formed based on number of registrants.
- Teams will be hosted through Hockey Edmonton, and games will be held within Edmonton.
