I want to start by thanking the evaluators who spent hours in the rink over the last 14 days. Many of them will not see this thank-you because they no longer have children in SPMHA or within this division, yet they continue to contribute to our U15 community. Once again, they have provided us with a comprehensive set of data to ensure the development and growth of every player. I would also like to express my thanks to Tara, the volunteers helping with check-in, bench parents, timekeepers and my kids for doing the laundry.

I always pause when I publish this post, because I understand that some of you may feel disappointed with your placement. Please know that a significant amount of time and consideration went into analyzing each player’s scores to ensure the best outcome for individual development. I am confident that each of you is positioned for success and growth.

As noted in my last post, there was potential for movement between contact and non-contact divisions, and some players have moved.

The moves between evaluation nights to date, have been based on previous game scores. Tonight, placement has been from overall scores, individual game scores and evaluator comments. In addition, team placement is based on numbers; we are limited by the number of players per team, the number of teams per tier, and the balance of positions (goalies, forwards, defense) required to form successful teams.

It is important to note that these are not final team lists as we are still in the process of contacting coaches.

Parents- I recognize that some of you may feel that you could better this process — the U15 Director position is currently open, and is a great opportunity to get involved and improve on building the U15 and SPMHA program.

Team and Parity Game List (please note the format of this list differs from previous lists with all parity game lists on the second row).

TeamLinkt invites will go out over the next few days once teams and coaches are finalized.

Please contact your head coach (once identified) if you are interested in volunteering for positions on your team’s staff. They will need support throughout the season.

I truly hope each of you has an amazing season and remember that a first practice is not indicative of how the season will go – some players may have just gotten back on the ice for the first time over the last few weeks, while others may have spent the spring in hockey and summer in training camps.

Trish

VP Senior, interim U15 Director

*** With disappointment comes the need to contest your player’s placement – please refer to section 4.4 of the Evaluation Policies and Procedures if you have a grievance about your player’s placement. I will not be responding directly to any emails about team placement (whether it was sent prior to this post or going forward).***
